the fair-bill policy

Cheaper than the boxes you’d glue together — and capped, so you can’t be surprised.

Four principles, then the apples-to-apples math.

Free, no card
Default plan is $0. You ship a tutorial before you ever see Stripe.
Hard caps everywhere
Every meter denies at the limit. No overage, no auto-upgrades, no surprise invoice.
Pay for bursts, not idle
Apps and tables scale to zero between requests. Idle is free, including on PAYG.
One bill, no egress trap
Storage, compute, vector and LLMs on one invoice. No per-request fees on PUT/GET. No egress meter.

Questions

The fine print, in plain English.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Every account opens on the Free plan — $0/month, no card required. All meters are hard-capped, so you can never be charged by accident. You only enter payment details when you choose to upgrade to Early Bird (or, later, PAYG).

When should I upgrade from Free to Early Bird?

Free is sized for tutorials and demos — roughly 265 LLM requests on a 1× model, 10K vector searches, 12 vCPU-hours of serverless compute, 3 GB of storage. The moment those caps start blocking real traffic, upgrade to Early Bird ($19.99/mo) for 5–17× more headroom on every meter. Hard caps still apply, so no surprise bills either way.

How does Early Bird differ from PAYG?

Early Bird is a flat $19.99/month with a fixed bundle of resources and hard caps on every meter — when you hit a limit, usage is denied until the next billing cycle. PAYG has no monthly fee and no caps; you're billed in arrears at the unit rates above. Early Bird is cheaper for predictable workloads; PAYG is better if you don't know your usage yet.

What happens when I hit a hard cap?

On Free and Early Bird, the corresponding API calls return a quota-exceeded error until the next billing cycle starts. There are no overage charges, no surprise bills, no auto-upgrades. You can subscribe to alerts at 50/75/90% of any meter so you see it coming.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Free → Early Bird is instant via Stripe Checkout. Early Bird → PAYG happens at the end of the current billing cycle (Early Bird is paid upfront, no mid-cycle plan changes). Your data and configuration are unaffected — only the billing model changes.

What about higher-tier plans?

Higher-tier plans are on the roadmap but not yet available. Today you can start on Free, upgrade to Early Bird (capped, $19.99/mo, first 100 customers), or wait for public PAYG. We're not pre-announcing prices we're not ready to honor.

Lock the rate before slots fill.

$19.99/month, hard-capped, the first 100 customers only. After that it’s PAYG at the unit rates above.
